Multipurpose halls  - Valencia, Spain

Multi-purpose Halls is a project executed during my third year study at the  Polytechnic University of Valencia.

Year 2013-2014

About

This project was one of three that we needed to accomplish during the study program, which consisted in urbanizing an area of 11.000 m2 next to the beach in Valencia, defining a five star Hotel and one hundred Housing Complex as well as a Multi-purpose Hall Building. An elevation of the buildings is showed in the drawing below.

All three buildings hold the same idea: “Structural ribs” opening to the sea and grabbing into a promenade that boarders the sea coast.

In the case of the Multi-purpose Halls, there are two ways of enter them: by the main reception in the first floor or by the walkways. This second way allows the user arrive in a procession way to the gazer before entering the hall.

In the middle of the building, the pivoting area which connects the two halls, there is the vertical communication such as elevators and stairs, and wet rooms such as toilets and kitchens.  At the roof top there will be the installation rooms camouflaged by the hight of the “ribs”. Concentrating like this all the installation conduits without cutting the main free spaces.
